In March 2024, the average wholesale electricity price in Slovenia stood at 64.08 euros per megawatt-hour, the lowest power price in the country since the summer of 2021. This represented a year-over-year decrease of roughly 45 percent. In August 2022, Slovenia’s electricity costs reached a record high of 494.4 euros per megawatt-hour because of a global energy crisis.
