After a long wait, the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is finally here! This guide provides you with all the essential information regarding the prestigious League of Legends event, including the full schedule, the prize pool and the latest results.

The MSI 2023 playoffs continue with another LCK vs LPL clash, now between Gen.G and BLG.
The winner of the series will go on to face T1 in the lower bracket final.

For the 2023 edition, Riot Games has decided to expand the format, increasing the number of teams from 11 to 13. Following the completion of the Spring split, League of Legends fans are now turning their focus to the first international event of the year.

MSI 2023 kicked off on March 2 with the Play-In stage, which went almost according to script as G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming came through the upper bracket. Golden Guardians joined them in the playoffs after sweeping PSG Talon in the lower bracket final.Article continues after ad

We are now down to the final eight teams, who will compete in a double-elimination bracket, with every match played in a best-of-five format.

MSI 2023: How to watch

MSI 2023 will be broadcast live on Riot Games’ Twitch channel, which we’ve embedded below for your convenience.

Last year’s MSI tournament surpassed the 2 million concurrent viewers mark during the grand final between T1 and RNG, according to Esports Charts. This was the highest peak viewership in the history of the event.

MSI 2023: Schedule, bracket and results

The event will take place from May 2-21 at the Copper Box Arena in London. The multi-sport venue, built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, has staged several esports events in the past, including the Rocket League Championship Series Season 5 – Finals and, more recently, Apex Legends’ ALGS 2023 Split 1 Playoffs.Article continues after ad

Tickets for the tournament went on sale on February 23, with prices ranging from £29 to £94.

MSI 2023: Format

MSI 2023 will consist of two stages, the Play-In Stage and the Bracket Stage, each featuring a double-elimination format.

In the Play-In Stage, every match is a best-of-three series with the exception of the Lower Final, which will be played in a best-of-five format.

The top three teams of the Play-In Stage will advance to the Bracket Stage, joining five invited sides. All matches in this stage will be best-of-five series.Article continues after ad

MSI 2023: All qualified teams

MSI 2023 will feature 13 teams from around the globe, two more than usual. LCK, LCS, LEC and LPL will each be represented by two teams, with the top seeds from LJL, LLA, VCS, PCS, and CBLOL making up the rest of the contingent.

As the winning region of Worlds 2022, LCK will send both teams to the Bracket Stage.

MSI 2023: Prize and final standings

MSI 2023 will have a minimum of $250,000 up for grabs, with the final figure depending on the community. Riot Games has developed a series of in-game and cosmetic items that will increase the amount of money that teams will be able to earn.Article continues after ad

A quarter of the proceeds from the Inkshadow Event Pass and Inkshadow Yasuo in-game skin will be used to increase the MSI prize pool. Moreover, half of the proceeds from the sale of the MSI 2023 Esports Premium Bundle will also go towards boosting the prize pool.
