As of 2023, 58 percent of all 5G base stations in China had been manufactured by Huawei. Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson and the Finish telecommunications company Nokia were the only foreign enterprises involved in the development of China’s 5G network. This involvement helped the companies generate significant profits in 2020.
