China: share of online travel platform users by city tier 2023

In March 2023, the majority of online travel platform users in China, more than 60 percent, were from tier-2, tier-3, and smaller cities. In comparison, online travel platform users from tier-1 cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, constituted less than 18 percent of the total.
