The Helldivers 2 community is demanding an auto-kick feature to combat those who keep the game logged into a server and cause others to not get in to play.

The servers for Helldivers 2 have been overwhelmed since the game proved to be more popular than the devs expected, prompting them to limit the player count.

This has caused some players to keep their game logged on so they don’t lose their spot in a server.Article continues after ad

However, this has caused anger among many other Helldivers 2 users who think this method is “ruining” the game for others.

This screenshot shows comments made by the players who are camping out on servers to keep their spots, more or less instigating those who criticize them for doing so.

As a result, the community is demanding a change be made and their anger is clear:Article continues after ad

The proposed solution is for the devs of Helldivers 2 to implement a feature that will kick a player out of the game if they have been AFK for too long, a feature common in other games. Article continues after ad

This, in theory, will then open up more spots on the servers, allowing others to play the game instead of waiting in a queue:Article continues after ad

“They’re ruining it for others and they’re making this issue worse. They don’t want to log out because they don’t want their server spot taken and then forced to wait in queue again.”

Thanks. This needs to be implemented asap because so many players are not logging out on purpose. They’re ruining it for others and they’re making this issue worse. Despite the overwhelming support for countering the camping in servers, there are some who have come to defend the strategy:

“I know I’m going to get downvoted to the underworld but with the amount of technical issues I don’t blame people for going afk in-game,” one person wrote.Article continues after adArticle continues after ad

It is clearly a big issue in the community and the Helldivers 2 fans want something to change. Whether or not that change comes is yet to be seen.
